Alfresco content service served as an online publishing platform
What do you like best about the product?
A central place for all of our editors who upload their content into ACS ( Alfresco content service). The digital content can be organized by different online publications using "Sites" in ACS. The workflows are all around the digital assets.
What do you dislike about the product?
License becomes more expensive. Be prepared to do the upgrade every 2 or 3 years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ten years ago, Tax Analysts (TA) used Lotus Notes as their online publishing tool. As the company sought to replace the outdated technology and embrace modern innovations, Alfresco Content Services emerged as the ideal solution. We are extremely satisfied with the platform.

Your Content on a Versatile Platform
What do you like best about the product?
It offers the basic to the complex capability a business domain is looking for. It caters to people who resist change to falks who innovate and dare to explore new capabilities in the digital content space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still to attain the handling of capacity when it comes to statistics regarding the content volume and the types of contents. It has been very hard to obtain certain numbers about the amount of contents in our repository, However, we are still hopefull that the strong 4000 hylanders can make it happen.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

What do you like best about the product?
Highlight mainly the document management system Alfresco Content Services for its adaptability to different installation and execution environments, as well as its ability to meet customer use cases and integrations with other systems.
On the other hand, the Alfresco Governance Services add-on as a complementary module to cover the entire document lifecycle with the ADBP.

What do you dislike about the product?
The Alfresco Process Services engine I think is the Achilles' heel of the ADBP, it has a lot to improve as a product. The modeler needs to be innovated, out-of-the-box connector, ...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The migration of older versions of APS and ADF is quite complex to achieve without issues.

Breadth of offering given it is a focussed product

It helped in easy itegrating with other teechnologies and storing and maitianing the documents

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface was intuitive and simple to use. I was also happy with the ease of deployment across our team. Even though we have a small team we had some complex use cases that were able to be resolved.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation could have been more aligned to some of our custom use cases. We were able to find what we needed eventually but would prefer it had been better organized.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Alfresco Process Services for document management. We have years of project documents that needed to be tagged and organized correctly. Now our firm IP is much more accessible and we do not have to re-invent the wheel with each new client.
Good document management tool
What do you like best about the product?
The thing that I like the most about Alfresco is that it does not require any special installation, one can use it through a web browser. Document management becomes easier with it.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very slow. It takes a lot of time to download files.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it to upload huge files and to have access on them whenever I need them. I can also add other users who can view and access the same files at the same time. The ease of creating multiple folders really helps me to manage my daily tasks.

Very Heavy.

What do you like best about the product?
Great Java based process management services, allows for visual workflows design for all kins of setups with easy to use, drag and drop based functionality and online backup
What do you dislike about the product?
UI needs significant improvement, a lot of the features are not intuitive, nor is the self service portal very exhanustive and well articlulated. Users might feel confused regarding some features

Designing and executing business process workflows related to our business across different lines and departments so that collaboration + communication overhead is reduced
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please consider the workflows use cases/ divisions that can leverage and create your purchase requisition accordingly.
Alfresco Process Services: Easy to use and efficient for the whole team but not for use externally
What do you like best about the product?
I think this product works best for small business or those that are just getting their feet wet with Content Services and record management software. It works well with Unix-like operating systems, and Windows. I have not tried this on Mac. You are also able to control who has access to files via a pretty robust role and permission filing sharing system so only those that truly need to see a document can have access and you are able to maintain confidentiality of sensitive infromation. The customer service representatives were really friendly and we felt supported throughout the decision making process and like we were making the right decision for our organization. This was important as we didn't want to have buy a software that may not work and then later had to switch platforms agains and slow down business.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UX of Alfresco Systems is pretty basic. The UX is also not as customizable as one would expect and feels more like a product that would have been "state of the art" in 2005 but feels slightly out of date for 2022. I wouldn't recommend this as a "front end" customer service tool but rather something that should be used on the back end by internal and operational teams. Alfresco Process Services is not able to generate public facing URLs which makes it difficult to collaborate and share information with external partners. I don't see a lot of Research adn dEvelopment going into this tool in the future which is unfortunate because I think it's one of those situations "what you buy is what you get" and don't expect the product to release major updates in the future but of course I could be very wrong about this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems my organization is solving with Alfresco Process Services include storing files with metadata and able to access previous versions of files with ease. We also used Alfresco Process Services to document workflows and share it amongst cross functional business partners. The workflow is adaptable for both small and more complex work flows making Alfresco Process Services a scalable solution. Because we are a high education institution we found that Alfresco Process Services integrates really well with software learning platform such as moodle.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend this product for those looking to share files internally with other teams but not for those looking to share with those outside of their organization or via a public domain. If you are looking for a organization wide document sharing software this platofrom will likely solve your needs as a budget friendly approach. Make sure you have an IT software team in place that can help with integration and supporting early adopters and users alike with the use of this tool.
